SLAID turns practice into readiness

What SLAID does

SLAID is a rehearsal-to-readiness coach for presentations. Use a checklist (bring your own, ask an expert, or use our AI coach) to support your rehearsal. The AI coach will help customize your checklist to a specific profession or activity. Record a 10-15 minute dry run and get an instant completeness and cognitive value score, and likely Q&A “blindsides.”

Students use it to lower anxiety and earn stronger grades; Instructors use it to scale fair, formative feedback; Professionals use it to sharpen pitches and demos.

How it works (in 4 steps)

  1. Imagine and design: Think about what and how (as who) you’d like to present. Use the checklists to add confidence and structure to your presentation.
  2. Rehearse: Record audio/video from your device. If you want to present on a paper, drag-and-drop papers (PDF) or search for them. We can even help you analyze a paper.
  3. Get instant coaching: SLAID analyzes your talk and slides with AI to return a conitive and completion score, Q&A drills, and accessibility flags (contrast, labels, reading order).
  4. Track progress: See trendlines over time, share a report with peers or instructors, and rerun short “snap drills” to improve fast.

SLAID is a product of STEDY llc.

What we collect

We do not store any information other than numerical representations of individual performance trends.

  • Media you choose to provide: presentation recordings (audio/video), slide files, notes, and chat feedback.
  • Derived data: transcripts, timing metrics, Q&A suggestions, accessibility checks, and readiness scores.
  • Usage data: device/browser info, feature clicks, timestamps, and crash logs.
  • Account data: name, email, school or company, role (student/instructor/professional).

Recording and consent

  • SLAID can record audio/video of your rehearsal only when you press record.
  • If you share a link or invite others to comment, they’ll see the artifacts you’ve shared.
  • You may delete recordings and transcripts at any time from your dashboard.

How we use AI

  • We use AI models to transcribe speech, analyze slide content, and generate coaching feedback.
  • Your content is not used to train third-party foundation models.
  • Some features may require sending data to vetted AI vendors under strict data-processing agreements; vendors are listed in our Data Processing Addendum (DPA).
  • We retain model prompts/outputs tied to your session for auditability and product improvement; you can opt out of product analytics.

Data retention and deletion

We do not store any information other than numerical representations of individual performance trends.

  • Default media retention: All media including recordings and transcription are deleted from our serversimmediately after completion of transcription and analysis.
  • Metrics: kept while your account is active to power progress tracking.
  • Right to deletion/export: download your data or request deletion anytime in Settings → Privacy or by emailing support.

Privacy & compliance

  • Students: SLAID supports FERPA-aligned deployments and institution-controlled data regions when contracted by a school.
  • Global users: We offer GDPR/UK GDPR rights (access, rectification, deletion, portability, objection) and a DPA for enterprise customers.
  • Access controls: role-based access; private by default. Sharing requires an explicit action by you.

Security

  • Encryption in transit and at rest for files, transcripts, and analytics.
  • Least-privilege access for staff; production data access is logged and reviewed.
  • Incident response: we notify affected users and institutions per applicable law.

Accessibility & inclusion

  • SLAID flags low-contrast colors, missing alt text/labels, and reading-order issues; checks include color-blind safe palettes and WCAG-informed heuristics.
  • We’re committed to an accessible experience; report issues to accessibility@stedy.app.

Fairness & explainability

  • Every readiness score links to evidence (transcript spans, slide references, timing marks).
  • Instructors can override automated ratings; overrides improve future suggestions.
  • We regularly audit for bias and publish model change logs.

Intended use & age

  • SLAID is a practice and feedback tool, not a grading authority or legal/medical advisor.
  • You must be 13+ (or the age required by your region). Minors may need parental or school consent.
